The beauty and grace of swans on the water has always enchanted me. Over the years I have taken many pictures of them in a variety of settings. It was when Takao Wakida showed me his photograph of this particular swan that I knew a rendering of it must be done. His photograph captured the lighting and serenity of the area to such a degree that it was imperative I try to duplicate the same beauty. Oil was my choice of media. The outcome was to me so satisfying that in the future I may still produce a watercolor and/or pastel rendering of the same subject.
