As a lover of animals, I was thrilled with how photographer Takao Wakida captured these tigers at the San Francisco Zoo. To me it was so unusual to see these animals in this resting position. I chose pastel for this piece because that media enabled me to add my own interpretation to this exciting subject. The tigers themselves are from the photograph but the background design came from my own imagination. The outcome of this work of art has really thrilled me.
